About Me

As an artist, I am drawn to photography because, while rooted in reality, it intrinsically shares the qualities of dream and memory—forever malleable, shapeshifting, never entirely on solid ground. It mimics the way memories and dreams shift, how details blur, colors change, and moments become more about feeling than fact—imperfect, emotional, and often charged with a sense of longing. With this in mind, I use both digital and analog technologies to explore themes born from our relationship to the natural world.

I have adopted a quiet, deliberate process as a form of resistance to the commodification of our time and attention. By embracing stillness, I step outside the overwhelming pace of contemporary life and focus on spaces that, though shaped by economic forces, are truly governed by the laws of nature. My work seeks to engage with these wild, ego-free zones, exploring the endless possibilities of experience they offer. It presents an alternative vision to the chaos of our culture, emerging from a realm that operates by laws older and ultimately more powerful than any currency or government.

I live and works in Lexington, KY.  I received a BA First Class Honours in Photography from Hereford College of Arts in 2010 and an MFA in Documentary Photography from the University of Wales, Newport in 2013. I am a part-time instructor at the University of Kentucky. I also teach community darkroom classes through the Fine Arts Institute. My work has been exhibited in both the United States and the United Kingdom, including the Hereford Photography Festival, Cincinnati FotoFOCUS Biennial, and Institute 193 in Lexington, KY. My work has been featured on vice.com, noisey.com, the Oxford American’s Eyes on the South, RawFile, NRC Handelsblad, and Finn Magazine.
